Die kinematischen Eigenschaften und die Struktur von stellaren galaktischen Scheiben, sowie auch von Gasscheiben, unter dem Einfluss von einem äusseren Potential wurde untersucht. Das Potential beschreibt eine logarithmische Spirale. Man verwendet Verfahren der nicht-linearen Bahnentheorie, bzw. SPH. Die Anwendung dieser Methoden auf bestimmte normale Spiralgalaxien mit grossen Neigungswinkel der Spirale zeigt, dass in dieser Klasse von Galaxien (Sc und Sbc), die Winkelgeschwindigkeit der starr rotierenden spiralförmigen Welle relativ klein sein muss. Beste Ergebnisse erreicht man in den Modellen, wo die innere 4/1 Resonanz am Ende der symmetrischen logarithmischen Spirale liegt.
