The results of a study of the measured absorption on 2.0 Mc/s radio waves at vertical incidence at Waltair (Geogr. Lat. 17°43' N., Long. 83°18' E, Geomag. Lat. 7.4° N) are presented. The measurements consisted in automatic recording of amplitude of the reflected echo using gating circuits, integrating and recording devices. The period of observations extends over one full year from January 1962 to December 1962. The main aspects which are studied are 1. (i) diurnal variation of absorption, and 2. (ii) the relative contribution of the D- and E-region absorptions.
