Laser data from Lageos satellite have been analyzed for the 1984-1990 time frame to obtain absolute stations velocities and the secular variation j2. It is found that relative motions between stations located in stable tectonic regions are in good agreement with the NUVEL-1 model predictions within 5 mm/yr rms. Relative motion across the San Andreas Fault is -33. + or - 1. mm/yr. A new estimate of j2 is presented (-2.8 + or - 0.04) x 10 to the -11th/yr.
