The interaction of a Reissner-Nordström black hole and a charged massive particle at rest is studied in the framework of first order perturbation theory following the approach of Zerilli. The solutions of the combined Einstein-Maxwell equations for both perturbed gravitational and electromagnetic fields are exactly reconstructed (to first order) by summing all multipoles leading to closed form expressions.
