Results of a systematic study of the visual meteors of the Leonid shower observed at Waltair during 1961-66 are presented. The daily mean hourly rate of Leonid meteors has been found to be maximum on the night of November 17. The activity of the shower steadily increased during the period 1961-66. Typical and average diurnal variations in the shower indicate a maximum rate of occurrence at around 0500 hrs (local time). The mean radiant coordinates of the shower are found to be alpha = 150 degrees , delta = +21.5 degrees. The study of frequency distribution of the Leonid meteor magnitudes shows that the Leonid stream consists mainly of larger-sized particles producing brighter meteors.
