We present time-series high-resolution infrared spectra for the RV Tauri star R Scuti. The infrared spectra of R Scuti contain molecular lines typically reserved for the spectra of much cooler stars. The infrared CO line profiles are very strong with complex absorption and emission profiles indicative of formation in multiple regions of the photosphere and circumstellar shell. These lines have a nearly constant infall velocity reminiscent of Mira spectra. The infrared H_2O lines have simple profiles, with velocity changes resulting from the stellar pulsation. The optical spectra of RV Tauri stars show the presence of two shock waves per photometric cycle (the time between two deep pulsational minima). The infrared H_2O and atomic lines show a single radial velocity curve each photometric cycle.
