We report our preliminary results for the radial scale length of the galactic disk based on star counts from the APS Catalog of the POSS I. Using star counts in 8 separate 16 square degree fields along the center/anti-center line at four galactic latitudes, together with the standard galactic model, we derive a scale length of 1.9 kpc. This result is on the low end of previous determinations.
