I present here an overview of the spectra and spectral properties (such as hardness ratios) of Soft Gamma Repeaters. In particular I will discuss the results of an attempt to combine the spectrum of one outburst from the SGR1806-20 as observed with the japanese satellite ASCA and with BATSE. The spectrum spans the range of 1-100 keV and offers evidence for theoretical constrains of the SGR emission mechanism.
