The Arecibo radar observations of near-Earth asteroids have shown us that there is an enormous variety of objects in the near-Earth population. We are still discovering new types of objects on a regular basis. This variety objects requires a variety of formation and evolution mechanisms. These same mechanisms affected the original formation of the Solar system, and the formation and delivery of meteorites.
