The intensive development of space communication systems on geostationary orbit is characterized by enlargement of the range of developed spacecrafts (SC) of a new generation. This range includes the development of SC of heavy, mean and easy classes. The long experience was confirmed the high efficiency of application Hall Electric Propulsion Systems (EPS) for solution of the tasks of geostationary SC (GSC) orbit correction, duration of standing point and orbit inclination. At the same time, for increase of communication SC payload mass (and appropriate reduction of a specific cost of one retransmitter) it's necessary the further development of used EPS and also enlargement of solved tasks range. In particular, application onboard EPS not only for correction of operational orbit, but also as apogean PS for delivery of the spacecraft from the geotransient orbit to geostationary one provides essential increase of SC (target instrumentation) payload mass. Even at moderate duration of the ascent ~60 days mass of SC on geostationary orbit is increased on 20... 30 % The characteristics and application perspectives of new generation Hall Thrusters on GSC of communication are considered in the report. The efficiency of application Hall EPS with increased thrust specific impulse (up to 3000 ) and also multimode EPS in the structure of multifunctional EPS, intended for the solution of tasks for providing of interorbital transfer and correction of operational orbit is evaluated. The capabilities of change of Hall EPS thrust vector and expediency of application of such thrusters in the SC motion control systems are analysed. With reference to easy class GSC the characteristics and efficiency of application of Hall EPS with low power at a level of 300 W are considered.
