Solar Radio Radiation: Flux Densities, Solar Radio Radiation: Protons

Scientific paper

The single frequency solar microwave emission flux is a solar activity index easily available every day. Based on a statistical study of the relation between the daily total solar flux at the frequencies of 2.8, 3,75, 8.80, 9.40, and 15.4 GHz from 1976 to 1986, and the 54 proton flares occurring in the same period, a relation can be seen between the solar proton events and the daily solar radio flux density. In some cases, the authors discuss the possible prediction of the proton events by radio parameters.
