Improvements that have been made in distance indicators and new ways of gauging cosmic scale are discussed. The indicators examined include: RR Lyrae variables, PNe, novae, Cepheid variables, globular clusters, luminosity-dynamics relationships, supernovae, surface brightness fluctuations, and gravitational lenses. While most indicators now suggest that the Hubble constant is about 75 km/s/Mpc, disagreement between the Cepheid variable and the supernova indicators in the key galaxy IC4182 and the apparent age of globular clusters greater than that of the universe are problems that remain to be solved.
