The Sudbury Neutrino Observatory is a 1 kton D2O Čerenkov detector, sensitive to 8B solar neutrinos. The energy, radius, and direction with respect to the sun of each neutrino event are used to determine the rates of the charged current (CC) and neutral current (NC) reactions of neutrinos on deuterium and neutrino-electron scattering (ES). Comparison of the CC, NC and ES rates from the analysis of the pure-D2O phase of the experiment provides a measurement of the non-νe solar flux component of φ {μ τ } = 3.41-0.45+0.45(stat.)-0.45+0.48 (syst.) × 106 cm-2 s-1, 5.3σ greater than zero, providing strong evidence for solar νe flavor transformation. The total flux measured with the NC reaction is φ NC = 5.09-0.43+0.44(stat.)-0.43+0.46 (syst.) × 106 cm-2 s-1, consistent with solar models. Measurements of the day-night ν flux asymmetry are also reported. A global analysis of the data from SNO and all the other solar neutrino experiments in terms of matter-enhanced oscillations strongly favors the Large Mixing Angle (LMA) solution.
