Time is seen as a measure of change, which provides the means of discussing physical time. Time is also a product of consciousness, particularly in relation to the way we perceive it, which has cultural and social variations. In this sense time is constructed. The way in which time is used in cosmology is a matter of modelling and hence arbitrary, but it also enables us to see the complexity of the phenomenon.
