HD49798/RXJ0648-4418 is an X-ray binary with unique properties: the primary star is the brightest known subdwarf of early spectral type, while the secondary is the fastest rotating (P=13.2 s) and one of the most massive (M>1.2 Msun) white dwarfs currently known. We propose a follow-up study to better understand the properties of the X-ray emission and derive tighter constraints on the masses of this interesting post-common envelope binary. In addition, observations near the time of the eclipse will provide for the first time information on the stellar wind properties of a hot subdwarf.
