Using stoppered PTFE containers, which open predictably upon heating,
liquids are prepared for reaction with bromine pentafluoride in much the
same way as minerals and rocks. A new value for the equilibrium
fractionation factor CO 2 - H 2 O 25° C (= 1.0417) falls
near the middle of the range of previously reported values.
