The sub-Coulomb breakup of 8B on a 58Ni target is studied at an incident energy of 26 MeV. These data provide a measure of the E2 component of the breakup cross section as a function of the astrophysical factor S17 for radiative capture of protons on 7Be. Implications for the solar neutrino problem are discussed.
