It is shown that the values of the Tisserand constants of comets which
arrive from the solar apex are much smaller than the actual values of
existing comets with respect to Jupiter and the earth. It is concluded
that it is not possible to confirm the comet capture hypothesis using
statistics based on the standard elements of the solar apex.
