The characteristics of forward-transmitted radiation are calculated for individual spheroidal particles and for a polydisperse ensemble of aligned spheroids in the interstellar medium. The main difference between the prolate spheroids (with a needle shape) and oblate ones (with a disk shape) is associated with the value of the interstellar circular polarization. Differences concerning the polarization efficiency of the medium and the wavelength at which the sign of the circular polarization changes are noted.
