Cosmic Abundances as Records of Stellar Evolution and Nucleosynthesis in honor of David L. Lambert, ASP Conference Series, Vol.

Two interacting binary systems, V2116 Oph and HR 4049, are discussed.
These systems both are evolved and contain disks but are otherwise very
different. Both cases illustrate the role the measurement of cosmic
abundances can have in understanding the evolutionary history of stellar
systems.
