In explosive astrophysical events such as Novae, Supernovae and X-ray bursters, conditions of extreme temperature and density are attained. In such circumstances, the rate of energy release and the path of nucleosynthesis is determined by nuclear reactions on radioactive nuclei. The advances being made in determining these reaction rates using new generation radioactive beam facilities are reviewed.
