High-speed and uvby photometry of LB 3459, an extremely blue foreground star in the field of the LMC, is reported. These and previous observational data indicate that the system is composed of two well-separated subdwarf O type stars revolving in circular orbits. The period is reasonably well determined and the components are not intrinsically variable. An evolutionary scenario for such a system must presumably involve the notion of binary systems in common envelopes.
