The question of the existence of transverse currents in the turbulent magnetospheric plasma in the case of developed EIC turbulence is examined. It is shown that both the existence of transverse currents and the fact that they partially close field-aligned currents can be explained by the combination of two effects: plasma inhomogeneity and plasma turbulence.
