The real time finite temperature Green functions necessary for the perturbation in general relativity are obtained in the framework of thermo field dynamics, a new real time formalism. As an application, the one-loop effective potential in the real scalar theory is calculated in the general curved space background in the normal coordinate expansion. A basic formula needed for evaluating the transport coefficients is also provided by calculating the imaginary part of a scalar self-energy diagram. The derived formula can also be used to calculate the energy momentum tensor at finite temperatures.
