The ionization of H atoms or hydrogenlike ions and the fission of deuterons by high-frequency (nu greater than 100 Thz) gravitational radiation is investigated theoretically for both relativistic and nonrelativistic cases. The high-energy-graviton absorption loss in cosmic space is estimated with teh DEGRE program (Burundukov and Kopvillem, 1983), and the generating functional for Faddeev and Popov (1967) for the gravitational and fermion fields in the alpha gauge is used in the bound of a covariant gravitational quantization scheme.
