We propose a 30 ksec Chandra LETG-ACIS-S observation of the X-ray bright gamma-ray blazar 3C 279 in optical high state. The main goal is to measure its high-state X-ray properties (spectrum, variability) in order to correlate them to simultaneous multifrequency measurements (radio to TeV gamma-ray energies); in particular to simultaneous INTEGRAL observations in the band 15 keV-10 MeV. An INTEGRAL ToO observation of 600 ksec is already accepted, around which a multifrequency campaign will be organised.
