SNAPsim is a Java software package designed to generate realistic simulated data from astronomical observations. Our simulation accounts for the detailed characteristics of weather, lunation, atmosphere, optics, detectors, astronomical sources and foregrounds, and cosmology. This package is used to study high-redshift ground- and space-based supernova surveys with a variety of instrumentation suites. SNAPsim also includes a supernova-cosmology data-analysis chain including light-curve, distance modulus, and cosmology fitters, which assess how well proposal supernova surveys determine dark-energy parameters. The SNAPsim framework provides an infrastructure to manage the results from the many simulations that are performed.
