Mirrors: Optical Testing
Scientific paper
The 3.5 m primary mirror of the Galileo Telescope has been polished by Zeiss to stringent specifications: 80% Encircled Energy (EE) within 0.24 arcsec for the Basic Quality and within 0.07 arcsec for the Intrinsic Quality. The authors publish the results from a Shack-Hartmann test performed on the mirror. They confirm the results obtained by Zeiss for the EE.
