The Small Magellanic Cloud mapping of IRAS data is being processed using pointed observation products (Additional Observations) released by IPAC. Two image improvements are to be considered: sensitivity and spatial resolution. The image processing method and some preliminary results are presented. The low resolution maps with improved surface brightness sensitivity show extended diffuse emissions at all the four IRAS bands. The existence of these diffuse emissions at 12 μm is clearly shown.
