Star formation in galaxies is deeply coupled with their molecular gas contents and distributions. Recent high-resolution molecular gas observations, combined with optical and infrared data, have provided opportunity to study in detail the process of star formation in spiral galaxies. The author discusses fuel (gas) supply processes, formation processes of stars, and finally return processes of gases from star forming sites and a galactic-scale circulation of gas.
