Molecules: Uv Absorption

Scientific paper

Using synchrotron radiation as a continuum light source, the authors have measured the absolute photoabsorption cross sections of H2S from 1600 to 2600 Å under temperature conditions of 370, 295, and 170 K and a spectral bandwidth (FWHM) of 0.6 Å. Moderate temperature effects are observed in the 1850-2100 Å and the absorption threshold regions. The peak, 1609.4 Å, which is assigned to a hot band transition, shows pronounced temperature effect.
