The orbit of Transit 9 (1964-26A) passed through exact 14th-order geopotential resonance during January 1989. The orbit was determined at 52 epochs during the period August 1988-May 1990 when the perturbing effects of the resonance were significant. The resulting variations in inclination and eccentricity were analyzed to give the values of six lumped harmonic coefficients corresponding to a mean orbital inclination of 90.468 deg. A detailed perturbation analysis was required in order to isolate the resonance perturbation in the orbit elements.
