Scientific paper

An analytical study is used to examine the dynamic characteristics of
the general circulation at ionospheric heights. The analytical results
are confirmed by numerical solutions of the equations of motion of the
general circulation obtained using available ionospheric models and a
neutral-atmosphere model.
