Simultaneous measurements of solar Lyman-alpha and X-ray fluxes are considered in relation to radio wave absorption data on 2775 kHz, showing that Lyman-alpha radiation dominates the absorption under non-flare conditions. Optimum equations are derived, revealing an m value (for the absorption/ionization proportionality), of 1.1-1.5. It is noted that the data used were obtained during June, July, and August 1969, 1970, and 1972, which were periods of high solar activity. At a correction factor of approximately 3, X-ray influence on absorption and D-region ionization are greater, but Lyman-alpha influences remain predominant.
