It is shown that it is possible to obtain the lunar tidal effect on F-layer parameters at various heights from the routine hourly readings of these parameters. A detailed account is given of an investigation of the lunar tide in [latin small letter f with hook]0F2 and hmF2 for a range of heights at Ibadan. The tide in [latin small letter f with hook]0F2 is of a "standing wave" type, with a node at a height (hm) of 308 km. Both amplitude and phase of the hmF2 tide vary exponentially with height.
