We propose to empirically determine the polarized beam structure of the Parkes 64-m telescope. We would like to use Parkes to map Zeeman splitting in 21-cm emission lines in the Milky Way, but before this can be done we must understand how the polarized beam structure affects the on-axis response of the telescope. We therefore plan to map the near sidelobe response of Parkes at 21 cm using the bright point source PKS B1934-638. We shall use the sun in an attempt to probe low-level sidelobe response far from the main beam. Finally, we shall observe two positions of known 21-cm Zeeman splitting in the Orion Molecular Cloud to assess how the mapped beam structure affects the Stokes I and V profiles as a function of parallactic angle.
