We propose to exploit the high sensitivity and large bandwidths of the Mopra telescope to study the physical and chemical conditions of an unbiased sample of massive star forming clumps observed within the The APEX/LABOCA submillimeter dust continuum Galactic plane survey. The results from the Mopra survey will be vital for the analysis of the Galactic plane survey, since Mopra allows to observe ''molecular fingerprints'' of the dust clumps, which gives access to the velocity information on the clouds (to determine kinematical distances, virial masses, infall and outflow activity), to probes of temperature, density and chemistry. The first part of the project observed in May 2008 was very successful with now 343 sources with detections of many lines. Here we propose to complete the Mopra survey of southern ATLASGAL clumps.
