The G305 and Havlen Moffat 1 star forming complexes are two prominent regions of massive OB star formation within the Galaxy. Consequently, they are prime laboratories to study the currently poorly constrained physical processes leading to the formation of massive stars and as such we have instigated a significant multiwavelength observational campaign to constrain their stellar content and star formation histories. We seek to extend this study by using Mopra to map the entire complexes in a number of molecular lines that will allow us to: i) trace the reservoir for future star formation; ii) identify current star-forming sites via H2O masers and hot molecular cores; iii) constrain the star formation history of G305 and HM1. Our Mopra maps will also act as a pathfinder for later ATCA NH3 mapping, which will allow us to probe the earliest stages of massive star formation within these complexes.
