The major problems and uncertainties in our knowledge about mass loss from massive stars are discussed. I will concentrate on: (a) the dependence of the mass loss rate on stellar parameters,
(b) the steep drop in mass loss rates for stars with log L/Lsun ≲ 5.3, (c) the role of rotation on mass loss and its effect on the wind structure, (d) the predicted and observed metallicity dependence of mass loss from OB stars in the range of 10^{-2} ≲ Z/Zsun ≲ 3, (e) the predicted mass loss rates for Pop III stars at Z/sun ≲ 10^{-3}, (f) the dependence of the mass loss rates of AGB stars and red supergiants on metallicity.
