Some interpretations of solar S burst spectra are presented. It is shown
that the spectra provide evidence for small (≡ 500 km) radio
sources in the corona which radiate at the fundamental plasma frequency.
The possibility of S burst fringes corresponding to coronal MHD waves of
wavelength λ ≅ 103 km is discussed.
