Monopole-antimonopole annihilation is reconsidered, taking into account the peculiar behavior of the baryon-number-violating monopole interactions. It is proposed that the large interaction radius of monopoles manifests itself also in the monopole-antimonopole channel, which would be strong rather than electromagnetic. The cosmological implications of this annihilation cross-section are analyzed, and it is found that the final monopole concentration depends essentially on the behavior at late times, contrary to earlier results where annihilation effectively ceases when diffusion stops.
