An inexpensive star finder which is accurate enough to be used by science majors and simple enough to be used by nonscience majors will be described. Experiments described consist of measurement of the right ascension and angle of declination of celestial objects; the path of the moon on the celestial sphere; the sidereal period of the moon; and measurement of large distances by the method of parallax. A summary of the experimental results obtained by nonscience majors using the star finder will be compared with accepted values.
