It is shown that a white-light optical processor can utilize natural solar light for image processing. A color image retrieval using solar light is briefly described and pseudocolor encoding is shown. The application of the method to multispectral Landsat images is addressed. The basic advantage of solar light optical processing, that it does not have to carry its own light source, makes it very suitable for spaceborne or satellite optical processing applications.
