A theoretical study is presented of energy transfer between fast charged particles and magnetic-field inhomogeneities frozen into a moving collisionless plasma. It is shown that the rate of change of energy averaged over particles at a fixed point of space of the fixed reference system does not coincide with the rate of change of the mean energy of an individual particle. The variation of this mean energy is adiabatic and is determined by the spatial behavior of the hydrodynamic velocity of the plasma.
