Scientific paper

The major science topics of InterAgency Consultative Group (IACG) Campaign IV are: the large-scale heliosphere and its dependence on solar photospheric and coronal phenomena, the topology of coronal streamers, the 3D shape of coronal hole boundaries, and solar wind source and acceleration. Science subtopics include: the structure of the heliospheric magnetic field as a function of heliolatitude, and its relation to coronal structure; the determination of the strength and structure of the photospheric magnetic field in the polar regions of the sun; and the structure, dynamics, and heliolatitude extent of transient phenomena from the sun and their manifestations in interplanetary space.
