Mozlov et al. (1974, 1975) have shown that the dynamics of the power spectrum of short-period cosmic ray variations is associated with the passage of shock waves through the interplanetary space. The regular fluctuations of cosmic ray intensity with periods of 40 to 45 min and 75 to 80 min were attributed to the structure of the shock front. The present paper is a study of the fine structure of the fronts of large-scale solar wind disturbances, using data on the power spectra of short-period variations determined from an analysis of cosmic ray bursts.
