A restricted variant of the plane three-body problem is considered in which the centers of mass of the satellite and the planet move in evolving orbits around their common center of mass, which in turn revolves around the attractive center, with the planes of the orbits coinciding. The satellite is modeled as a gravitating material point, and the viscoelastic planet in the nondeformed state is dynamically symmetric. The slow tidal evolution of the translational-rotational motion of the system (i.e., the deformable planet and the satellite) is analyzed.
