Propagation of a spherical blast wave in general relativity is investigated by extending Kompaneetz's method. Growth of pressure behind the shock front is suppressed by a factor in proportion to (1-3/10 rg/r) compared with that in Newtonian case, where rg is the Schwarzschild radius of stellar objects. Propagation velocity of the shock front slows down by a factor e-(λ-ν)/2. This effect may be similar to diminution of light velocity in the strong gravitational field.
