In 1999, I was awarded time to investigate the spatial distribution of diffuse 3.28(micron) emission within the Galactic center region with ABU/SPIREX at the South Pole. The resultant deep 30 arcmin square image contains several intriguing diffuse structures, located outside the more fashionable central parsec and heretofore unremarked, if not unseen. Since SQIID is uniquely suited for obtaining moderate field, accurately registered images at JHKnbL, I propose to use it to ascertain the overall characteristics of these objects and accurately locate them for subsequent interdisciplinary study.
