The globular cluster NGC 3201 is in a strongly retrograde orbit. Our earlier analysis of 18 red giants showed a spread in [Fe/H] from - 1.17 to -1.68 from heterogeneous observational material. We propose to obtain high resolution of 40,000 and signal-to-noise of 100 spectra of two pairs of stars with the same effective temperature. The two pairs have apparent abundance differences in [Fe/H] of 0.21 and 0.34. Hence we will confirm or disprove the reality of the claimed abundance spread in NGC 3201.
